The best beaches
One hour from the best beaches in Andalusia
Seville is located in a privileged position, just one hour from the best beaches in Andalusia. The Sevillians appreciate it because throughout the year, especially in the summer, they can escape the high temperatures that the city supports, which in some months can exceed 40 degrees centigrade. Well connected by motorways with the coast, from Seville it is possible by car, bus or train, spend a day at the beach and return to the city at night. Two options open in this direction, towards the West, the beaches of the province of Huelva, in the beautiful Doñana National Park, to the south, the beaches of Cádiz, a multitude of beaches that make up the Costa de la Luz.
Huelva and the wide beaches of Doñana
One of the widest virgin coasts in Europe, with about 35 kilometers between Matalascañas and the mouth of the Guadalquivir river. This coastline is the marine border of the Doñana National Park, one of the most important natural areas in Europe, a refuge for a multitude of migratory birds and the famous Iberian lynx, an endangered species. Cuesta Maneli, Pico del Loro, Rompeculos, Mazagón and Matalascañas are some of the most beautiful enclaves of this region where you can enjoy extensive beaches of fine sand and the blue-green waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The entire coastline is accompanied by cliffs of fossilized dunes about thirty meters high, the Asperillo Cliffs, which protect bathers from the wind, providing magical conditions for bathing.

Cadiz, the Costa de la Luz
The other option to enjoy the sea near Seville is the province of Cádiz, to the south. In Cadiz, the coast is more winding and gives rise to many beaches with different physiognomy. The province has 260 kilometers of coastline with a total of 83 different beaches between coves, inlets and sandy areas of several kilometers. Unlike Huelva, in Cádiz it is very frequent that the sea meets the mountain, with landscapes of pine forests. Among the most famous beaches are urban beaches such as La Caleta, in the city of Cádiz and more virgin beaches such as Bologna, beautiful for its dune that rushes to the sea. Zahara de los Atunes, Conil are other popular beaches or Tarifa, cradle of surfing in the Iberian Peninsula thanks to the strong winds that come from the Strait of Gibraltar.
